Mr. Barringer, who joined the Shepard Academy faculty in 2015, teaches English 12 Honors (ENG 105). Students in English 12H earn concurrent college credit through USI. Students examine and discuss highly-engaging poems, short stories, plays, and novels.

An original Shepard Academy instructor, Mrs. Coy has thirty plus years of teaching experience, all at Harrison. Advanced Composition prepares students for college-level writing through intensive instruction in expository writing, sentence style, argument analysis, and research.

Andrea Smith (Social Studies)

Mrs. Smith has more than twenty years of experience teaching at HHS. After eight years teaching the Freshman Shepard cohort, Mrs. Smith moved to the Senior level. Current SA courses are AP United States History and Politics and AP Microeconomics. Seniors also show what they’ve learned in the We the People competition. Outside of the academy Mrs. Smith also teaches other AP classes and Economics.
