The Shepard Academy is a four-year
leadership development program that integrates social studies and
English curriculum for high school students who are interested in law
and social justice.
The
curriculum helps students develop leadership and critical analysis
skills. The Academy experience is designed to include multiple field
experiences and guest speakers, which enrich the curriculum. Students
develop their reading, writing, and speaking skills, while preparing for
studies in law, social justice, and American policy.
Students have the opportunity to earn up to 21 hours of college credit upon completion of the Academy.
Students
spend half of their school day at the Academy and the other half at
their home school. Students continue to participate in extracurricular
activities at their home schools.
